Facility Use Policy
Mission: Helping people find and follow Jesus
LifeSpring Christian Church is a 12,000 Sq. feet facility capable of hosting events in the large foyer, auditorium or classrooms. Its amenities include a warming kitchen; audio/visual and WI-FI access; and plenty of tables, chairs and bathrooms to accommodate a 425-seating capacity in the auditorium with a collective occupancy of 375 based on parking for 88 vehicles. The congregation has priority in conducting events within the Church building and premises. LifeSpring Christian Church, at its sole discretion, may allow outside community civic groups and outside entities to use LifeSpring property by making an application; agreeing to certain provisions and directives; providing a waiver and Hold Harmless agreement; affirming the event or activity is not contrary to our mission or our statement of beliefs; and not in conflict with other scheduled events or functions.
Purpose
LifeSpring Christian Church (LSCC) facilities, property, furnishings, and equipment were provided through God's benevolence and by the sacrificial generosity of Church members. The Church desires that its facilities be used for the fellowship of the church body and to bring glory to God. Although the facilities and property are not generally open to the public, we make our facilities available to the community and approved non-members as a witness to our faith, in a spirit of Christian charity, and as a means of demonstrating the Gospel of Jesus Christ in practice. LSCC members, non-members, Community and civic groups are all welcomed to use the Church facility and property under the provisions outlined below. It is intended that these policies will direct the use of the Church facilities in a manner that will honor and glorify God and serve to minister to His people.

Introduction
LifeSpring Christian Church (LSCC) welcomes the use of its facilities and property by its members, related church ministry groups, community groups and agencies, and others whose objectives are deemed by LSCC’s approving authority to be fitting and not contrary to LSCC’s bylaws and statement of beliefs.
The grounds and facilities of LSCC does not "rent" out space; however, use of the building, grounds, facilities, furnishings, and equipment does result in added expense to the Church. This policy details fees that will be used to defray these expenses.
LifeSpring Christian Church has had a number of long-standing relationships with several community organizations for ongoing use of the facility. Other local organizations and individuals have also utilized our facilities for one-time or short-term usage. Non-member requests for Facility Use must be sponsored by a church member or pre-approved by the Church office.
Approval of the use of the church grounds and facilities does not constitute or imply endorsement of any particular group, their mission, or their positions. Groups approved to use facilities must not advertise the event in such a way as to imply endorsement by LifeSpring Christian Church. No activities or advocacy may take place within our buildings or grounds that conflict with the policies and beliefs of LifeSpring Christian Church.
Users of the facility, grounds, furnishings, and equipment are required to fill out an application for approval and scheduling; agreeing to a hold harmless and waiver agreement; and affirming their understanding of the rules and directives.
These policies, procedures, and rules supersede all others approved by the elder board of LifeSpring Christian Church. This document may be revised by the Board of Elders of LifeSpring Christian Church as deemed necessary.

General Policies
The Facility Use Policy stated here applies to all persons using LifeSpring Christian Church buildings, grounds, furnishings, and equipment (the “Facility” or “Premises”). Users, including individuals, groups, entities, and organizations (the “User” or “Users”) other than official church ministry groups are required to fill out a Request for Facility Use application and to sign a Facility Use Hold Harmless agreement. Hold Harmless agreement and waiver form is mandatory before the activity or event.
LifeSpring Christian Church use of its facility, property furnishings, and equipment will not be permitted to persons or groups holding, advancing, or advocating beliefs or practices that conflict with the Church's faith or moral teachings, which are summarized in, among other places, the Church's Statement of Beliefs and Bylaws. The pastor, or his official designee, is the final authority concerning the use of Church facilities.
This restricted Facility Use policy is necessary for two important reasons. First, the Church may not in good conscience materially cooperate in activities or beliefs that are contrary to its faith. Allowing its facilities to be used for purposes that contradict the Church's beliefs would be material cooperation with that activity, and would be a grave violation of the Church's faith and religious practice. (2 Cor 6:14; 1 Thess. 5:22.)
Second, it is very important that the Church present a consistent message to the community, and that the Church staff and members conscientiously maintain that message as part of their witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Allowing facilities to be used by groups or persons who express beliefs or engage in practices contrary to the Church's faith would have a severe, negative impact on the message that the Church strives to promote. It could also cause confusion and scandal to Church members and the community because they may reasonably perceive that by allowing use of our facilities, the Church agrees with the beliefs or practices of the persons or groups using its facilities.
Therefore, in no event shall persons or groups may use LSCC facility who hold, advance, or advocate beliefs, or advance, advocate, or engage in practices that are contrary to LifeSpring Christian Church's faith and beliefs. This policy applies to all of LifeSpring Christian Church facilities, property, furnishings, and equipment because the Church views all of its property as Holy and set apart for the Church body to worship God and to serve the community. (Col. 3:17)

A Host/Event coordinator is a LifeSpring trusted volunteer responsible for assisting outside civic groups in their activity or event(s) needs. Host/Event coordinators are available to answer questions about the facility and to ensure the facility is maintained for cleanliness, safety of the users, and proper use of the facility’s equipment and or devices. The Host/Event Coordinator is present during the use of the facility to protect its assets and to represent LifeSpring Christian Church. Some outside civic group events or special activities that require the Host/Event Coordinator(s) to be present for several hours or have a large number of attendees may incur additional costs.
Permitted Access to Facilities and Activities:

B. Funerals or Memorial Services
The funeral or memorial service is a celebration of the life of the deceased. The content of the funeral or memorial service is the responsibility of the officiating pastor in collaboration with the bereaved family members. The lead family member and officiating pastor may also need to coordinate with the funeral home director regarding details of the services. The officiating pastor will assist with the deceased loved ones and help arrange the service.
Memorial services or celebration of life events typically are services that don’t have the presence of casket or urn. This service may take place days, weeks, or in some cases months after the death. 4. Use of the church premises, whether for marriage ceremonies, or any other event, function or activity will not be permitted if the Board of Elders determines in its sole discretion that such use of the church premises would violate in any way biblical principles that are contrary to LifeSpring Christian Church’s Policy on Marriage and Human Sexuality.

Sports Equipment
Users of any sporting equipment are responsible for any lost or damaged equipment. All sporting items and equipment are to be returned to its proper storage area after use. Report any damages to the Church staff.
Insurance
LifeSpring Christian Church requires a Certificate of Insurance (COI) as an integral role in safeguarding this facility from potential liability claims. A COI acts as proof of insurance coverage and provides assurance of financial protection. For all non-Church-sponsored events, outside civic groups or individual users of LSCC facilities must obtain a Certificate of Insurance (COI) naming LifeSpring Christian Church as an additional insured in the amount of at least $1,000,000 dollars. An exception can be made for those groups under 25 persons. In lieu of a COI, all individuals participating in these groups will be required to sign a Hold Harmless waiver agreement.
A Certificate of Insurance (COI) is often a one-page declaration that serves as proof of a business’s insurance coverage. A COI declaration is valid for the duration specified under the policy effective and expiration dates. Facility Users can obtain short-term or single use liability insurance from their auto or home insurances as a rider or from any other special event insurance companies, such as theeventhelper.com website.
If the participants are minors, User will obtain the signature on the Hold Harmless agreement of at least one parent or legal guardian.
