I Said What I Said - The Crucifixion Through Pilate's Eyes

March 28, 2021
Series: Simply Jesus

Speaker: Mike Maglish

Bible Passage: Mark 15:16-27, Psalm 22

What was the crucifixion like?

To the religious leaders it must have felt like redemption. While to Roman Soldiers it likely felt like triumph. The family and friends of Jesus experienced complete sadness. Meanwhile, Simon of Cyrene (and his sons) experienced a life-altering event. Amazingly, the Centurion in charge of the crucifixion had his worldview change.

Yet when we look at the crucifixion through Pilate’s eyes we see a whole new approach to the cross. This sermon is about how we, as Christians, can learn something from how Pilate perceived the crucifixion.

Jesus is the suffering servant. He is the King of the Jews. I said what I said.
