David is known as a man after God’s own heart. Yet most people can’t even say that without immediately after mentioning the matter of Uriah and Bathsheba. How can David be remembered as a man after God’s own heart when he committed such an atrocious sin?
I Kings 15:5 says, “because David did what was right in the eyes of the LORD and did not turn aside from anything that he commanded him all the days of his life, except in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.”
Sin messes with things. We can’t the consequences of our sin. Focusing on our sin only makes us want to sin more. What we learn from David is how to respond after we sin, and fix our eyes on Christ!
