You’ve been invited to have a seat at the King’s banquet. What do you do? Do you ignore the invitation or do you rejoice at this unexpected offer?
In this Easter sermon, we take a close look at Jesus’ parable from Luke 14:12-24 titled the Great Banquet. Jesus tells this story of a man hosting a grand feast who sends invitations out to many. However, time and time again he is met with excuses of those too busy or too self-important to attend. The man sends out more invitations, even to those whom society would deem undesirable, in hopes of filling his banquet halls.
So what does this mean for us? Find out in “The Invitation” and learn that you too have been given an invite by God.

There are all kinds of words we can use to describe us. There are a lot of words that we THINK define us that are negative words. Undoubtedly, there are plenty of people who have allowed for these kinds of labels to be put on them. We are not the lump sum of the things that happen to us. We are not what other people have decided we are or aren’t. We are not what people have said about us over the years, the discouraging words, that is not who we are! That is not our identity!
Our identity is so far greater than any words or any labels that can be put on us because our identity does not come from people or the words of people. Our identity comes from Jesus Christ!

Rahab was always known as “Rahab the Prostitute.” Yet I want to tell you it doesn’t matter. It has no consequence for your future. God wants to give you a future. And your future is being a child of God and not your past. Not that label that we give ourselves. God wants to give you hope and He wants to bring you a new life. You are NOT your past!
