Series: Identity

The Mirror. Have you ever looked long enough in to the mirror to either LOVE or HATE the person looking back at you? We spend most of our time looking around at everyone and everything else. In fact, we know more about the people we interact with every day than we know about ourselves (What we look like, habits, etc.). In this sermon from Romans 2-3:20 we find out why it's important to "look in to a mirror" when it comes to noticing the sins and faults of this world. Hint: It's not a THEM problem. It's an US problem. It's a ME problem. We have a problem. It's a sin problem. Knowing our problem will go a far way in finding out how to address it.

Idolatry. It's a big deal to God, and for good reason! There's no end the what we can become when we choose to exchange the CREATOR for the CREATED. That's what a self-centered identity is all about. It can get gross. Just look at the list in Romans 1:18-32. In this sermon we will look at how things go off the tracks when we allow for our identity to be self-centered. It's no longer about honoring and serving God.

What is our identity? Our identity is challenged many times throughout our life. Another way to ask that question might be, "Who am I, really?" In Romans 1:16-17 Paul answers this question. There are a lot of things we are not. But, as Christians, we learn we are people of Gospel Identity. In this sermon we learn about the identity of Saul vs. the identity of Paul. Same person. Yet not at all the same person. Find how how to to remind yourself who you are in Christ and how your Gospel Identity allows Jesus to transform you at your core.
